Proofreading Email for Mario Printer Installation

Hello Mario & Adriana,

I checked the printer this morning and it’s a USB printer not a network printer. In order to give printing capability to Hernan and Diana I need to:

1)       Create a workgroup between Diana & Hernan computer

2)       Download the latest drivers and install them in both computers

3)       Share the printer

Due to the fact that this is not a network printer but it will become a shared printer, the computer in which the printer will be installed must be kept always on in order for the two employees to be able to print. The estimate time for this job is one hour. The cost will be $ 80.  I can do the printer installation any day of this week. Would you approve this project ?

Thank you,

Max

Some thoughts for your consideration.

I checked the printer this morning and it is a USB printer, not a network printer. In order to give printing capability to Hernan and Diana I need to:

 1)       Create a workgroup between Diana and Hernan's computers

 2)       Download the latest drivers and install them in both computers

 3)       Share the printer

Because this is not a network printer, it must become a shared printer. Accordingly, the computer to which the printer will be physically attached must be kept on all the time in order for the two employees to be able to print. The estimate time for this job is one hour and the cost will be $ 80.  I can do the printer installation any day of this week. Are you willing to approve this project ?

=======================

Consider networking the printers with a printer server box if need be. Much better end result.

Here's my take. One question though: Is "Hernan" the correct spelling? Should it be "Herman" (with an M?) If so, the text below needs to be corrected.

Hello Mario and Adriana,

I checked the printer this morning and it’s a USB printer, not a network printer. In order to give printing capability to Hernan and Diana I need to do the following:

1)       Create a workgroup between Diana’s and Hernan’s computers.

2)       Download the latest drivers and install them in both computers

3)       Share the printer.

This device will not be a network printer, but will, instead, become a shared printer. Accordingly, the computer on which the printer will be installed MUST ALWAYS BE KEPT ON in order for these two employees to be able to print.
The estimated time for this job is one hour. The cost will be $80.  I can perform the printer installation any day this week. Would you be able to approve this project?

Thank you,

Max

cheap project, don't you see I need to go through  approval for $ 80 :)

It depends on your client and their relationship with you.

A print server is more expensive, but much more reliable over the long haul. Inevitably, some will turn off the computer

"Hernan" the correct spelling? Should it be "Herman"  <--- Hernan is also the first name of one of my clients (no relation to the author here).

John is awesome he has been helping me is all my advetures since a while now and he is always willing to provide alternative solutions. John I will definitely keep the print server solution in mind if the sharing cheap solution fails.

Yes, in this case it's a Latino name and it is spelled Hernan.

John adding a print server to the USB printer, it grabs an IP address and it become like a network printer more or less correct ? so none of the computer must be kept on all the time correct ?

thank you both of you

Thanks . Yes, none of the computers need be kept on if you use a print server. Ask them and see what they say.
