Keyboard language problem during VM console access

Most of the times we have observed if RDP is not working for a VM or somehow Nic is disabled
And then if we try to take console using domain cred. or login id with special character like @ or \
It does not allow us to put such values while showing something else when pressing any keys.
Can we get this resolved without any downtime?

Using VMware Infrastructure Client (vCenter) you should have your usual keyboard layout.

Yes, you need to set keyboard layout for login screen as admin of windows...

Again - the machine you are using VIC on determines the keyboard layout.
You can also switch the keyboard layout, if there are more than one installed on the VM, at the logon screen with W7 and later OS, via a button at the top left.

I have tried every option for my win 2k3 VM during vm console...no luck, also tried on screen keyboard of my machine to give values  under vm console of VC.
i can see this is showing in win 2k vm console @Left Bottom only.

If you are using the virtual on-screen keyboard, why you can't login? You are seeing the characters you actually type.

how can we find/invoke virtual keyboard for win 2k3,xp ,2008,win 7 if trying to access vm through vc console ?
Qlemo"Batchelor", Developer and EE Topic AdvisorCommented:
You use your virtual/on screen keyboard, as you did. That should not go thru any further translation (as your physical keyboard might).

Probably I'm not understanding your issue correctly. If I use vSphere Console for W2000 or W2003, I get what I type, I see which keyboard/language is active as a symbol in the login or lock dialog, and am able to use @/\ without issues.

here my issue is m not able to use special keyboard char like @ / most of the time  when my Machine is not accessible using RDP /domain cred

so how can we make sure all will be fine during console access we take from Vcenter
gheistCommented:
The system console does not take your desktop NLS settings.
Qlemo"Batchelor", Developer and EE Topic AdvisorCommented:
Correct. But the onscreen keyboard of the PC connecting to the VM console does.
