Crystal Report question: Can you perform a seach with in a report that is completed?

I have a report that is completed, however there are thousands of clients records or data. So I need to be able to perform a search from the (find function, binoculars) while in main mode. this search should only return the 1 client's info to review at a time? Is this possible?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

The search/find in Crystal only moves to the record and highlights the value.   It doesn't do any filtering or show only the selected records.

TO do what you want you would need to add a parameter and set it to the value you want then refresh the report.

OK thanks for your speedy reply, I have seen how to set parameters. However to where is the refresh located or how does this work?
How are you viewing/running the reports?

IN the designer and most of the viewers I have used it looks like 2 arrows head to tail one on top of the other.  In the designer it is also a menu option.

Exploring SharePoint 2016

Explore SharePoint 2016, the web-based, collaborative platform that integrates with Microsoft Office to provide intranets, secure document management, and collaboration so you can develop your online and offline capabilities.

For the regular "Refresh" option, you can also use F5 (like in some Web browsers).  At least, that works in the CR designer.  I don't know about the viewers.

Once you've added the parameter and used it in the report, when you hit "Refresh", CR will ask if you want to use the current parameter value or enter a new value.

OK guys give me a chance to try it. It will probably be tomorrow before I'm able to respond.

Sorry if my answer seems to be stupid :).

You can export the complete report to pdf/excel and then by using search functionality you can reach your required data quickly.
