2012 remote desktop services

I have a new 2012 standard server, which I want to use as a terminal server, I have remote desktop services installed.
I want to be able to install applications on the server, and have users have an rdp session so that their userprofile will be installed on this server and they can run their applications.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

There are numerous articles out on the web on how to install and set up basic remote desktop services on Server 2012.  Here are a few:

If you have additional questions or need help after reviewing one or more of those articles, please post back with more specifics.

Since this is a 2012 server, is their a way to have their rdp desktop have the look of 2008 , which is much easier to naviagate too.

Can a user profile from a 2008 server be used on a 2012 server?

Not as far as I'm aware.  This a Windows 2012/Windows 8 style desktop.

No, the profile created on the 2012 server is totally different from what we know as the standard user profile.  2012 stores user profiles using a different (more efficient and less corruption-prone) method, called profile virtualization. I think the only choice is to migrate them manually.

Do I just copy the profile from a 2008 server onto the C drive under users on the 2012 server?

Someone with more experience in this particular aspect of 2012 RDS might chime in here.  However, my own reading and experience leads me to think that what you need to do is configure the default profile on the 2012 server and let the user profiles be created dynamically as they log on to use RDS.   However, if the users already have roaming profiles, the literature indicates that the roaming portion will be applied when they log on and copied to their user profile disks (the virtualized RDS 2012 profile storage method).
