configure RD gateway behind firewall

I have configured an RD gateway. Its FQDN is part of my no-ip.com DNS.  ie:  core1.AD.xx.ddns.net, my no-ip name for my public ip of my router is xx.ddns.net.  I am confused on how to configure my external client to access the RD gateway.  if I use core1.ad.xx.ddns.net for server name in RD Server Gateway settings,  will it resolve to my public firewall(port 443 forwarded to RD gateway). my self signed certificate CN is core1.ad.xx.ddns.net.

THank you,

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Yes it will resolve correctly.  Unless you're binding a port and have more than 1 ip address, you will need to set port forwarding for ssl (443) to your internal RD gateway server.

Then, on a remote client, set your RD gateway server to core1.ad.xx.ddns.net and then set the computer name to a computer which has been allow in your RAP (I always just open it up wide to the whole network).  THE COMPUTER NAME DOESN'T NEED TO BE A FQDN.  It can be the local ip, DNS alias, etc...    192.168.1.58,  10.10.2.11, etc...
