remove password from excel 2010 file

We have an excel spreadsheet that is password protected with at least 10 - 12 characters.  The person who passworded it is not available and we need to access it right away.

Do you know of any free or good programs to purchase that would accomplish this?

Thanks.

First try:
Go to File>Info>Permissions - Protect Workbook> from dropdown select Encrypt with Password, then remove the asterixed password from the Password box/field.  Save the file.  When you open the file again, there will be no need to insert a password.

If these suggested methods do not work then you will need to get the password from the person who passworded it.
