Exchange Antivirus and licensing

Anybody knows if Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange and Kaspersky Security 8.0 for Microsoft Exchange Server has a way of counting mailboxes to make sure you are licensed right?

We have a very mobile number of mailboxes changing everyday and we can't take the risk to exceed the number of licenses and let some mailboxes unprotected.

Symantec Mail Security is licensed by a per-user/per-year subscription license model. So you must purchase the number of license based on the number of users that you want to protect. If you install the product more than the number of license purchased you will be out of compliance.

So you have to estimate the # of users (physical) not mailboxes that you want to protect and pay the annual charge for this # of users

This is not my question, I already know that in this case I will be out of compliance. If so, I will purchase more licenses to reach the same number of mailboxes i have. What I need to know is if during the time that I do it, the mailboxes that exceed will be unprotected or if Symantec don't count mailboxes on the database.
you can have more mailboxes than users and you pay per user on an annual basis.

You should contact vendor for licensing questions. They might be able to guide you properly. Please note, we are technical experts.
That's the answer to my question, but it would have been more thorough with some additional data from Symantec

Thanks Mohammed
