Upgrading OS with SQL 2012
I have a copy of SQL 2012 running on Windows server 2008 R2 Standard.
i need to add more ram to the server, so to get rid of the 32gb limit i need to upgrade the OS to 2012 r2.
Can i do an in place upgrade without mauling my SQL Server? or should i set up a brand new server and just migrate the data across?
Ideally in place would be a lot easier.

if you are able to purchase a 2008 r2 enterprise key, you can just change the edition from there without an OS upgrade
DISM /Online /Set-Edition:ServerEnterpr
