Exchange 2010 restore to a different server

We have a lab setup that we would like to restore out Exchange backup to it.  Is this possible to do such a thing?  The lab is a different domain and not part of the production environment.  We use Windows native backup to backup exchange.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You can do it in lab, however you in to restore your AD also. If you have DC running on VM, just shut it down, clone it. Then take it into lab connect it. Now bring it up. Seize and transfer FSMO role. Next you need to build the same exchange server in lab using recover switch, once it is up, you can restore the DB. Don't need to clone Exchange server.
