Creating a temp table then inserting that data into another table

I am creating a temp table in dbaccess

dbaccess database
select * from dbtable where date=today and name=smith order by date into temp temptable

What I would like to do is take this data and insert it into another table.

it means that no. of columns in your temp table is greater or lower from the select statement.

select dcol1,dcol2,dcol3
