ProLiant ML370 G5 firmware upgrade

What is the typical approach to upgrading the firmware for a ProLiant ML370 G5 server REMOTELY.

I've usually run firmware upgrades locally either from DVD or USB. I have download the latest update to the server's C: drive in a .RAR file. I'm thinking the server will have to be restarted to initiate the firmware install, so that system files that need to be closed will be, during the installation. Just unsure of how to proceed.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Most HP servers include an ILO module so you can do these tasks remotely. But of course it needs to have been setup in the first place... Also, the G5 is relatively old and I'm not sure if those already had these modules built-in by default.
