Linked Server to a Firebird 2.5 DB

Hello Everybody,

how can i connect a firebird 2.5 DB from a SQL Server 2012? Both db's are running on a microsoft server 2012.
Which driver must i install to use a linked server from the the sql server to the firebird db?
The dbname is Data.dbf the user is sysdba and the password is masterkey. the connection withthe tool flame robin is ok.

Check in the ODBC utility if isn't already a Firebird driver there. If so you just need to create a DSN entry and use it to create a Linked Server.
If you don't have the Firebird driver then you'll need to install the client first.

please be sure that the .dbf file is a firebird database, they can be called anything but its very unusual to have .dbf extension .fdb is the usual one
