I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Is the Active directory domain and the remote office where Exchange is has another separate domain?

All the users need to do is either connect using Outlook Anywhere (using the Outlook client) or just use OWA web URL to access their mailbox.

So yes you can accomplish this based on the limited details you have provided.

It doesn't matter where they are located physically as long as there is network connectivity between the two physical sites.

Technically possible.
However Exchange is a heavy user of AD. If there is no domain controller with it then it will become very slow if it has to go across a link with any kind of latency.
It isn't a design I would even consider. Lose the link and your Exchange server is dead in the water.
You WILL lose the link at some point (doesn't matter what the Telecom company says about SLAs - an idiot digging up the road doesn't know or care).
