After creating new mailbox for a user: name is listed on the OWA, but the name is not listed on Outlook client global address book


I have now created a new user on the AD and I have created a mailbox as well. All the staff can see the name of the user listed in OWA , but not on their Outlook client Global address book .
Is there a way for making the name listed on the Outlook client global address book

Please post me some tutorials

How long have you waited between creating the account and checking Outlook?

As the account shows in OWA, it is there, and will appear eventually in Outlook.
However Outlook uses the OAB, the OAB is only generated once a day by default, and then downloaded by the client only once a day (if running all the time) or shortly after being started.

You can force the OAB to generate, and you can force the client to download it. However the second stage is not something an admin can do.

If a OAB force does not correct the issue you might need to re-create the OAB entirely.

Please see below and let me know if this is the correct way of doing a OAB force through EMC. How log will this take and during this instant will the address book on the clients be offline.
Organisation Configuration-Mailbox-Offline Address

Right click Offline Addresses- Click update- I get a dialog box, which says Update causes the offline address book to be regenerated, which can take several minutes, Are you sure you want to continue?

It really all depends on how big your address book is. If you have thousands of addresses in there then it could take sometime. It really all depends on that. Also the users will need to close and re-open Outlook as well to ensure that the OAB updated correctly.
