CME SIP redirects

Running CME 4.0 on a Cisco 2811 Router with AIM-CUE running CUE 3.2.3. CME connects to a VOIP provider via SIP trunk over the Interwibble.

I have been having issues with redirecting calls to the voice-mail system on the CUE. My configuration appears to be as per examples I've found, but after banging my head against a brick wall I think that I have got to the bottom of why this is happening, but I need a reality check on how to fix it.

Doing some SIP debug I could see that the calls were coming in OK and that SIP transfers were happening and calls dropped, but the still get a ringing tone on the handset dialing into my network. Some more debugging has revealed the following (details sanitised):-

From that I can see that the call is accepted, rings the extension and after 10 seconds tried to redirect to my voicemail number 8888.

1) My knowledge of SIP is limited so can someone confirm that the following line from the debug is informing my upstream SIP server to redirect the call to the number@IP address of another SIP server, i.e. my CUE

Contact: <sip:8888@192.168.1.199>

If that is the case then the fact that it's passing a private network address would answer the question on why the transfer doesn't work.

2)  As i understand it SIP informs the other party to talk directly to another SIP device by passing on the URI of that device. Is there a way of doing the transfer internally to the CME, thus resolving the private network issue in 1.

3) I had considered redirecting the voicemail to a PSTN number run by my VOIP provider which would then route back to my CME, and setup that number as a DDI for the voicemail. Is that a valid solution, or am i just compounding the problem?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

ElvorfinAuthor Commented:
Ive found the solution to stop the SIP server from being redirected to the CUE (private address). Using the no supplementary-service sip moved-temporarily command under voice service voip

This concatenates the SIP trunks through the CME router.
