Upgrading Exhange Server 2010 SP1 to SP3

Hi there Experts,

I have a Windows 2008 R2 SP1 Domain Controller and Exchange 2010 SP1(14.01.0218.015) installed on the same Server.

I would like to update the Exchange to SP3. I have neither multiple sites nor 2 or more Exchange Servers.

I have found various documentations on the above matter but I would like to clear out the following:
-      How should I upgrade Exchange's Server Roles?
-      Do I need to go first to SP2 or not?
-      Should I install all the Windows Server Updates up to date prior to Exchange Server update?
-      Could you please advise all the required steps in detail??

Thanks in Advance,

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

1. Exchange Server Roles will not change from SP to SP

2. No SP3 includes all fixes from SP2 and SP1 etc.

3. You should always keep your Windows server up to date with latest updates from MS

4. Just inform your users that Exchange Services will not be available for the time it takes to apply SP3 and restart your exchange server.

Good luck.
