Cisco ASA and PIX

I am building a test lab

I have a cisco pix 501 and an asa 5505

I have my pix "outside" connected to the asa "inside"

I have my pix set up for

i have my computers plugged into the pix "inside"

Everything on the 10.0 can talk to the asa which is ont he 0.0 network.

However, I cannot talk from the 0.0 network to the 10.0 network. I belive it has something to do with the "outside" interface. What am i missing in order to allow all traffic from network to come into the pix?

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You don't specify where the 10.0 network is. What is the 0.0 network?

Please provide more information or a diagram.

I think the issue is that the PIX cannot do vlan routing.

the 10.0 network is the pix. and I have 2 computers plugged into the "inside" interface. The "outside" interface is plugged into the 0.0 network which is provided from the ASA.

So in order to get bi-directional I believe I would need to establish inter vlan. Does that sound accurate?

The pix will just ignore the VLAN tags in the traffic?
