Using Oracle 9 with a 64-bit application

I have a client that wants to use SAP BI v4.1 as their reporting platform.  BI 4.1 is strictly 64-bit.

Their data is stored in an Oracle 9 database which is not a supported database for BI 4.1.

Is there an Oracle driver that will allow a 64-bit application to use Oracle 9?

The client does NOT want to upgrade Oracle as they are moving away from it in the future (no definition of when that future is).

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

If you can find an old 10g 64Bit driver that BI will play nice with, it should work.

I'm not sure the 11g drivers will connect to a 9i database but you can always try and see.

Thanks.  Any recommendation on a particular driver?

I don't know what BI can handle.

I'm typically anti-ODBC mainly for the LOB limitations from many years ago.

I like OLEDB and more native drivers.

Thanks.  BI 4.1 supports Oracle 10gR2 so we will tell them to try that with the upgrade.
