There are many free jpeg editors out there. One of the best is called GIMP. You can download it here:

Hi gudii9,

If I understand your question, you are asking how to modify the way a jpeg looks.

This can be easy or difficult depending on what your image looks like and what you want to do with it.

Most graphics are created on programs (such as GIMP or Photoshop) that allow you to draw and modify both shapes and text, and let you move them around to suit. When saved in their native format, they can be opened again, and more changes can be made.

These native files, however, cannot be displayed on the web. For that purpose, the artist will Save As a jpeg file. The pixels on this jpeg file are locked in place. They can be painted over, but they can no longer be moved, modified, or erased. That is why it is always nice to have the original image files to work with.

Much of the time that is not possible. Then artists have to use different tricks and techniques to achieve what they want.

Sometimes you can make a copy of an element that you want to move, onto a separate layer. Then, paint over the original using a background color. You are now free to move this element around at will. You can even duplicate it and have several copies of the element to move or modify.

The same is true with text. You can copy a section of text onto a new layer so that you can move it, or can cut it up and put it back together in a new way.  Or you can type entirely new text on a text layer and erase (paint over) the old text. This new text layer can be made larger or smaller without distorting. You can also change the color of the type, or add special effects.

Once again, what you are able to do depends a lot of what your image is, what its background looks like, and what you are trying to do with it.

If you care to upload the image that you are working on, or part of the image, we can perhaps give more detailed suggestions.

If the image is of a sensitive nature, you can upload a similar image and we can discuss that as well.

In general, if you want to ADD elements to an existing jpg image, this can be easily accomplished.

However, if you want to edit the existing text or other elements, this is more difficult.

Paint.NET is a free image editor, not quite as powerful as GIMP or Photoshop, but has advanced features such as layers and so on.
