Hot swapped drive not rebuilding

All,

I had one of my drives fail over night in my HP  MAS70 array box, Normally you would swap the drive and the raid would start to rebuild. That's not the case this time.

I swapped the drive and loaded the HP ACU. It sees the new drive as

0 MB 1-Port SAS Drive at Port 1E : Box 1 : Bay 4

My status errors are:

274 -  0 MB 1-Port SAS Drive at Port 1E : Box 1 : Bay 4 is bad or missing.

298 -  SAS Array A - 1 Logical Drive(s) contains a failed physical drive. To correct this problem, check the data and power connections to the physical drives or replace the failed drive

I have restarted the server, restarted the MAS box, The replacement drive is Brand New yet still flashes Amber. I ran a diagnostic, all other drives in the raid are good with no  predictive failures

I would rather not dump the raid and redo it but trying to find a reason why its not rebuilding

Hi

It is possible you have a DOA harddisk, it would strongly recommend ordering another one and try that.

Cheers
