Printer recommendation

Hey guys,

We print hundreds of barcodes out per day, just a full sheet. Our printers do not seem to last too long since we print all day.

We are looking for something durable that is reliable. Budget is 5-800.

If you print all day, then maybe you need a professional solution from Xerox, Minolta, etc.
That's going to be way over your budget, but comes with a warranty that it will print all day without issues.

On your budget, can I suggest you buy several laser printers and divide the jobs?
I've had a good experience with Canon LBP6310dn. I bought several of them for the cartridge (very easy and cheap to refill) but they've proven to be quite resilient.

Dan

Dan, do you have a non-UK version of the canon?

i am looking for something that does over 42ppm.
OK.
Just checking: the budget is $500-$800 or $5.800?
I don't know if you have to print them in a sheet format, but we use Zebra printers all day long and have done so for years. We find them to be reliable and pretty beefy.  Zebra typically has a roll of labels and prints one label or multiples at a time.

budget is 500-1000, ill raise it a bit if needed.

Jhyiesla, do you have a model # you recommend. We just use the standard 8.5x11 for printing.
The zebra printers are roll printers that print a maximum size of 4" wide; so they are not sheet printers.  However, they are very robust. They are thermal printers which means they print via heat. The labels need to be sensitive to that, but they're not hard to get.

We were using the S4M model which was about $800, but I think that's been discontinued.  Our current model is the ZT230 which runs just a little over $1000. They also make a ZT220 which is about $800. I've not used it, but we've never really had a bad printer line from them.  They also make less expensive printers, but whether you'd want them or not would depend on your throughput. For example we have some light duty needs and do buy some of the LP2824+ printers which are less expensive, but they are not as heavy duty.

Probably the key things would be - is your software compatible with this printer since it's not a sheet printer, what's your throughput, and what's your connectivity needs.  I think most, if not all of the Zebra printers, would support USB , but not all support Ethernet.
