Exchange 2010 database failover

We have 2 mailbox servers with 4 databases on each server. Each database has a copy on the other server. Recently all databases on one server failed over to the other server where all databases were on the same server. We fail them back over and everything works fine. This has happened 2 times in the past 2 months.

The fail over works fine and service isn't interrupted very much. But, I need to know where to look to find out why the fail over happens. I look through the logs but, i really don't see anything that explains why the fail over happened. I am being pushed by management to supply a cause. Where do i look and what do i look for? Shouldn't there be something like "failover occurred because server A did not respond"?

Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You need to check failover cluster logs. Open Failover cluster snap-in and check the logs there. That will tell you what happened.
