EXCEL - is it possible to search for ASCII extended controll codes in EXCEL

I have some EXCEL columns that contain extended control char codes like the trademark shown below.  Is there a way to search for these in EXCEL?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

In cell Edit mode copy the symbol from the cell. You can then do a Find and paste it into the "Find what" box.

In excel if you find the ASCII Key ..you can do it with code function which basically tells you the Windows ASCII key..

Now if you read this line in excel in a cell lets say A1 has value-->TRxRdad® Remote Display

now if you apply =CODE(MID(A1,8,1))

Also please note im searching for specific ® since even the text values like Trx has ASCII key assigned to them and i want to look for specific ® and which is the 8th value in the cell A1.

Since the ® sign is the 8th character it will give you 174 as the answer which is the ASCII key for it for excel now if you apply  =char(174)

It will give you the ® sign in excel in cell...

Assuming in additional if you want to find ® exist in the data or not then you can simply do this..

If ® is present in the data it will give you a number answer otherwise it will give you an error value...

Enclosed is the excel file which you can refer to for the same..
