custom java object eclipse option

Hi,
I am reading below paper
http://javapapers.com/core-java/hashcode-and-equals-methods-override/

Using eclipse can i override only hashCode or Equals alone not both?
When i choose eclipse option for custom tiger object  i see both equals and hashCode()

I know overriding equals without overriding hashCode corrupts as per the paper but wonder if there would be any need and option to override only one.

please advise

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

There can be ways to modify one in a way that preserves consistency with the other.

Use Eclipse to override both and then delete one of those overrides so that you only end up with one.
