i was thinking of writing the code from the scratch, but to save time, David has a very nice article all about different sets of solutions,  the one you need is, in the revision 1 of the article


also article where in that first code given, if you select today's date and then do not select the end date, just leaving the 12:00 hours, it will export all the calendar entries for given day, in your case today's date

Thanks. I found similar code that loops through all appointments in the calendar. I inly want to loop through today's appointments. Is this possible?
