Why my computer PC earphone cannot work unless restart the PC ?

Hi Expert
My earphone used to work well in the PC(win8). But recently it could not work(I cannot hear any ) unless the PC restart. Any one can give me some suggestion ? Thank you

Check the sound driver and update where possible

Hi go to settings, control panel and select device manager. you can right click and unistall. download the lastest driver for your deivce and all being well that should fix your issue

you can try that, but it probaly wont fix your issue. doest it now show what sound card is insatalled in the device manager

Check in your sound settings that the ear jack is not "0" volume or muted.

One thing that i forgot to tell, which is the speaker is working well after I unplug the earphone

Try another earphone... the present one may have a bad cable or it's jack may have poor contacts, also the jack port in the PC may be failing from wear and tear.

I tried another earphone, and it is the same. it looks like it is pc problem

install SRS Premium Sound utility
it will show exactly why its not activated
sometimes it goes to mute and windows does not notify
through SRS you can see and un mute without restarting
