Exchange 2010 sp1 remote site unable to download OAB

I added our remote site as an accepted domain and configured their accounts to connect to our exchange server.  All worked perfect except I am unable to download the offline address book.  It never gets past the processing stage.

They reside on a different active directory domain.

Thank you

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

first thing i would do is get the exchange environment to a supported level - service pack 3 then to update rollup 9; might fix the issue

VPN between the two sites.  Also can't open shared calendars. I will try the upgrade next week like the earlier post but would like to get this working sooner

Thank you
