change col by another column value

hi
this is the query
select Tm.TMID,
ConversionCode as CID,
CustName,ValDate,
CycleName,
Mkt,
ProName,
Quantity,
IF(Tm.Quantity < 0 THEN 'plus' ELSE 'minus') as ActionDB

FROM Tm inner join TmDet on Tm.TMID = TmDet.TMID
inner join Customers on Tm.CID = Customers.CID
inner join dbo.Cycles on Cycles.CycleID = Tm.CycleID

i try to do this :
IF(Tm.Quantity < 0 THEN 'plus' ELSE 'minus') as ActionDB

but its not working how can i fix this ?

run it with out

case Tm.Quantity when < 0 THEN 'plus' ELSE 'minus' End as ActionDB

to make sure the remaining code works okay. the

include the above line as you have it here.
