Old exchange

I have an old offline exchange server, I need to retrieve data from that server.

What should I do, try to connect with outlook to it?

can I pull the data from the edb file and use EDB to PST? (any good tools out there you suggest )?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

What you can do for something like this is use Kernel Data Recovery for Exchange Server.

I have already some mailboxes on office 365 with emails in the mailboxes.

will this tool just add the the emails from the edb I export?

it will detect same username (email address ) and migrate the emails?

I cannot say that I have tried the 365 option. You can download a trial version and test it out.

You can try out Exchange inbuilt utility (ESEUtil) to repair your corrupt exchange database. Before buying any tool, download trial version of the tool and check yourself if that work. Also if you want a cheaper solution for EDB conversion then you can try EDB Convert from PCVITA [Link: http://www.pcvita.com/edb-converter.html].

It doesn't matter which software you prefer for extracting data from edb file, make sure the money you're spending is worth or not. There is no benefit if you get a software at very cheap cost, but it should work in every case whatever test you perform on your system/server. That's why I use, as well as suggest Stellar tools for data recovery, especially in case of Exchange server. You can check its features here.... to extract edb data into outlook pst form.

But not only in this case, you should always check the online reviews of every software whenever you're going to purchase online.

Good Luck,
