Exchange 2013 Migration Public Folders

I am in the middle of a migration from 2007 to 2013.  I have a total of 300 mailboxes and have successfully moved about 50% of them so far.

I plan on leaving the 2007 server up and running for a couple of weeks without any mailboxes on it so users Outlook and Active Sync phones will automatically connect to the new 2013 server.

My question is can I begin the Public Folder Migration piece while the mailboxes are still moving to the new server, or do I need to wait until ALL mailboxes have been successfully migrated?

I have been using this walk through for the migration:

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You can start the migration during the move mailbox stage, because you cannot start using public folders on Exchange 2013 until you have all mailboxes on the new platform. It is a cut stage, not mixed.

Ok, so to be clear... It is perfectly fine to migrate the PFs while the mailbox moves are still in progress.

If so, do you know of a good walk through to migrate the public folders?  I have used the link above before and it did not go well.......

You have seen the official TechNet guide on the process?
