Galaxy S5 (verizon) Lollipop / bookmark to home screen shortcut

Greetings,

Problem: I need to find out how to drop a bookmark into a shortcut on a home screen in Lollipop.

I had a Galaxy S4 with Android 4.4 that worked well with an app that had you go into a browser and create a bookmark for a particular website.  Then you would long press on a home screen and get the window for adding shortcuts and widgets and you could create a shortcut on the home screen to go straight to the website.  What you got was an "icon" that opened the website in the default browser.

Now I need to do this on a Galaxy S5 with Android 5.0 (Lollipop) and can not.  No where can I find a way to drop a bookmark to a screen shortcut.

I spoke with a Samsung help tech who is researching for a solution.  The tech acknowledged many complaints of the basic issue but was stumped.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Spudstah,

See if this works for you: Using the default Chrome Browser, go to the website you want to bookmark. Once on the site, tap the three-dot menu icon at the top right near the URL, and select "Add to homescreen."

Cheers,
