I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You can use iCloud but I connect my iPhone with the USB cable. Like you, I prefer that and no, you are not forced to use iCloud.

For the newest version of iTunes, start it up, connect the phone and you will see a phone icon come on. Click on that and you get the iPhone menu: Summary, Apps, Music, .... Info.  Click on Info and all the sync information is there. I sync Calendar, Contacts, Notes and Tasks from Outlook 2013. Works fine.

Where is the "info" tab please?
Can you screen shot it for me?

Ive attached where mine is in version 11 but I paniced onsite as I couldn't find it on version 12 the customer was using on site.

see screen cap of where mine is on v11

I think that is an older version of iTunes than I have. My "Info" tab takes me to your screen above. That is what I see. So you already have the Sync screen for Outlook.  I can see all the settings there. Should work.

Ok I see it now.

I just panicked on site.  I was tired / it was late and it was the last thing I had to do there.
feck1Author Commented:

This saves me a lot of grief.

a lot of mis guided info on the www about this tab being missing

Not related to my "problem"

OK, so you can do the sync with either version. Go into the screen and work through the settings you want.

The stuff is all there (unlike the radioshack forum thinks) - it is just that Apple changed all the furniture. All there and all works.
feck1Author Commented:
Changed all the furniture around :-) I like that expression.

Thanks for all the help.

I didn't have my usb sync cable with me to compare settings on the day and had to get it right on the next visit.

They moved the furniture around ...
