Terminal server error

I have a strange problem with a number of thin clients we have. We have old HP T5530 thin clients and they are unable to connect to a windows server 2003 terminal server. The error message received is:

"because of a security error the client could not connect to the remote computer"

I tried four of the users with this same thin client and swapped them with a HP T5540 and this resolved the issue. Any ideas why the T5530 is having this problem?

Take a look at this post on the HP forums - it would suggest that the issue is down to the terminal server licensing. It may be that the T5540 that you have recently added is being granted a temporary license which may actually expire soon too:-

Check license and certificates.  I've seen both issues on terminal servers.

Hi,

I checked and it looks like the two T5540 have taken a good license and not a temp license. I have spent all day on this and still no joy.

I have attached a print screen as I can not see any of the devices being issued a temp license. I have tried resetting the thin client to factory defaults.

Best Regards,

Ross13 - Do you have any t5530's that let a user login or is it just this one device that doesn't work?
