Well you need to tell a bit more detail. Like is it RAID ? If so which RAID ? How are you restoring the image? I mean are you using any utility ?

You can use Diskpart to clean the disk and create primary partition. Then try restoring.

You must boot the server from a windows server 2008 installation disk, select lamguage, keyboard, location and in the next window (install now) you have to choose the repair computer option from bottom left of the screen.

If your image is on the network you'd better to have the driver for NIC prepared on an USB stick to load them. The stick is better to be plugged when computer starts

Best regards!

diskpart
list disk - you will receive a list of all disks
select ID-disk
clean ID_disk

you can also list partition
format partition etc
, etc

Please read below to clearly identify what you need. Is hard for us to tell the command you need if we are not in front of your screen. And a command of diskpart can erase forever datas which maybe you do not want to!

Windows icon > Run > CMD (to open command prompt)

Type DISKPART and hit enter
Type LIST DISK and hit enter  (note which is your disk number, for example here I am using DISK 1)
Type SELECT DISK 1 and hit enter (or whatever disk number matches your USB size)
Type CLEAN and hit enter
Type CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY and hit enter
Type SELECT PARTITION 1 and hit enter
Type ACTIVE and hit enter

Hope this helps
