Tools to develop a multi-ad screen with Python

Hi all!

I would like to build a tool with Python that allows me to show on the screen multiple static ads / videos (the screen can be divided in 4, 5, 7 parts or similar).

The application will run on a Raspberry Pi connected to the tv and it will simple show the content of a specific folder (I'll put there 1.jpg, 2.3gp, 4.png and so on and those will populate the slices of monitor available)

Which kind of tool you suggest me to learn and use for the job?

Thanks!

pygame will help you accomplish this, its used for video's games , very simple and straight forward

Sample Code that shows some pictures :

import pygame, sys

pygame.init()
screen = pygame.display.set_mode((700,500))
images = []
images.append(pygame.image.load("picture01.jpg"))
images.append(pygame.image.load("picture02.jpg"))
show = 0
clock = pygame.time.Clock()
while True:
   for event in pygame.event.get():
      if event.type == pygame.QUIT:
         pygame.quit()
         sys.exit()
      if event.type == pygame.KEYDOWN:
         if event.key == pygame.K_ESCAPE:
            pygame.quit()
            sys.exit()
         if event.key == pygame.K_SPACE:
            show = (show + 1) % len(images)

   screen.blit(images[show], (0 , 0))
   clock.tick(30)
   pygame.display.update()
