Virus Scan Novell File Shares

Need a good process for scanning Novell Netware 5.1 (thats right 5.1) servers with McAfee VirusScan 8.8. I know Netware 5.1 was supported by McAfee with Netshield, but was dropped after Novell move to the Linux type OS. Is my only course of action, to map drives and scan from a secondary system?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

i did some reading on this already, but were trying not to buy a product right now in hopes of move off these servers very soon.
It has been years since I have worked with Novell, but I do recall that you could use the console in order to initiate a virus scan of the server.

How do you know if your security is working?

Protecting your business doesn’t have to mean sifting through endless alerts and notifications. With WatchGuard Total Security Suite, you can feel confident that your business is secure, meaning you can get back to the things that have been sitting on your to-do list.

we have a lifetime subscription to Mcafee antivirus and NetWare Netshield.  But saw the hand writing on the wall and converted to Windows.
I suggested Kaspersky as that is what I believe is the best.  Using it at home.
They offer a trial subscription, and who knows if you buy their product it may be upgradeable to Windows if you go that way, you can ask.

Your only reliable option is to have a good (realtime) antivirus on your workstations, and do a regular scan of your Netware volumes.

We've thought about configuring VSE to send network shares, but upper management is concerned about multiple users pc's scanning there file share on the same server at the same time. Such as 25 user systems scanning 25 files shares on one server at the same time.
