How to correct double encoding

I recently upgraded from sharepoint 2010 to sharepoint 2013. The user profile pictures are being used in  list view webpart. I'm not able to get the pictures and when looked at the picture properties. The url is having double encoding like - http://test/user%25%20profile/my.jpg

How to correct it to http://test/user%20profile/my.jpg

I googled and tried javscript solution but that did not work at all.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

%20 is a space character and %25 is a percent character. both characters are not allowed in an url string and must escaped because of this. i don't know why the escape sequences cannot be resolved by the properties viewer, but perhaps you should try to find out the reason why the path "http://test/user% profile/my.jpg" was created in the first case and whether it wasn't possible to move the image to a location without a percent and a space character.
