"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

If you have vCenter then go to your vCenter, click on your DataCenter, click  on Tasks & Events and review the logs.

If this is past 24 hours old, the events may no longer be viewable, (as they will scroll up the screen > 1000 lines) but you will be able to extract the task and event information from the SQL Database.

Open your VI Client > Edit >Client Settings > Lists > Change Page size > to number of lines desired .
If necessary close and re open your VI Client.

if the event and tasks are not viewable, let me know, for PowerCLI and scripts..... to search the event database
