How do I fix page_aspx does not contain a definition for formview_itemUpdated ?

Hello Experts.

I have an asp.net web forms application that works great when I launch it from Visual Studio 2012 - localhost.  But when I move it to my GoDaddy server I get the following error:

CS1061: 'ASP.memberpages_frm_current_user_active_fnol_queue_aspx' does not contain a definition for 'fv_gv_active_user_fnol_ItemUpdated' and no extension method 'fv_gv_active_user_fnol_ItemUpdated' accepting a first argument of type 'ASP.memberpages_frm_current_user_active_fnol_queue_aspx' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)

Here is what I added to the formview:
<asp:FormView
        ID="fv_gv_active_user_fnol"
        runat="server"
        DataKeyNames="x_id"
        DataSourceID="sdc_fv_gv_active_user_fnol"
        OnItemUpdated="fv_gv_active_user_fnol_ItemUpdated" >
...

Open in new window

The code behind for "OnItemUpdated" is:
protected void fv_gv_active_user_fnol_ItemUpdated(object sender, FormViewUpdatedEventArgs e)
        {
            this.gv_active_user_fnol.DataBind();
        }

Open in new window

Any ideas why this works on localhost and not when I move it to the GD server, an how I can get it to work?

Any help would be greatly appreciated?

Thanks,
J

Hi,

Clean & Rebuild the solution and publish the web application again to server.

I think your publish is not uploaded properly.

Thanks for the reply.  I removed "OnItemUpdated" and the code behind and the page rendered just fine.  I tried adding it back in and got the same results as before.  So I decided to remove it and put it in a button.  But I got the same results as before - it works on localhost but not on the actual server (I just get the error page).

Do you have any other ideas?  I really just need to data bind the gridview after updating the data in a formview.  I'm open to any suggestions regarding different ways to get the desired results.

Thanks,
J

Well it looks as though something is broken.  I just tried adding a simple button to an existing page and I get the same error.  Again, it works on localhost, but not on web server.  I tried adding the following:

protected void btn_loss_loc_insd_loc_same_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
        {
            insd_st_dir_ddl.Text = street_direction_ddl.Text;
            insd_add1_txt.Text = loss_address_1_txt.Text;
            insd_add2_txt.Text = loss_address_2_txt.Text;
            insd_st_type_ddl.Text = street_type_ddl.Text;
            insd_unit_type_ddl.Text = unit_type_ddl.Text;
            insd_unit_num_ltr_txt.Text = unit_num_ltr_txt.Text;
            insd_city_txt.Text = city_txt.Text;
            insd_state_ddl.Text = "43";
            insd_zip_txt.Text = zip_code_txt.Text;
        }

I'm going to remove everything from the web server and try to reload the entire site from VS.  I'll post my results.

Well that worked.  Everything works as it should now.  Ugh!!!

I should have done as you suggested at first.  Thanks again for the help!
