Citrix printing

Attorney's home printer does not show up in Citrix when she tries to print.  She has stated the printer is set as the "default" BEFORE logging into Citrix.  Once she logs in, goes in to Word or some other application and try to print to the printer, it prompts to install a driver.  The person's printer is a Samsung.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

What version of Citrix are you using?  What version of the Citrix client do they have installed, and what are your policy settings regarding use of the Universal Printer?

Is their model of printer supported for use with Citrix/RDC?  Many printers for the home market use "Host-based" printing which relies on the local computer to handle much of the print job and this process cannot be delegated to the server.

If the client is connecting to the system over VPN are you using split-tunneling?  Does your security allow her to connect to see her local devices when connected to the network?

If the printer is supported have you a matching driver (like the Citri UPD mentioned above) installed on the Citrix server? Does the client's PC have a local driver that works with the UPD?
