Master / Detail forms question: how to allow detail updates but not Master in Access 2013

I created a master / detail form, and it works well, except I want to prevent any updates / deletes, etc. on the Master record.

I set the Master form properties to No for Allow Additions, Deletions, and Edits, but that prevented updates on the sub-form.

How can I accomplish this ?

(Also, I noticed there are no tags anymore? I assumed that was helpful for searches and such.)

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

How can I accomplish this ?
Select all the controls on the master that you do not wish to permit to be edited.
In the properties dialog, on the Data tab, choose Locked = True.
That will prevent all those controls from being changed and should do the trick.

(Also, I noticed there are no tags anymore? I assumed that was helpful for searches and such.)  Some folks were good at tagging their questions well.  Others...not so good.  There are organizational changes underway to find something that way may work better
