I would try to uninstall any IIS related components and reboot.<br />

I am trying to install IIS onto a server 2008 R2 machine, but after running through the installation it fails and states that the server needs to be rebooted.<br />
<br />
After each reboot I try again and it fails with the same message.<br />
<br />
There are a couple of notifications in Event Viewer but nothing very helpful:<br />
