Exhange 2010 Remote Move

Hello - Hopefully someone will be able to help me.

We are currently migrating from one domain to a new domain and have hit a problem.  Our current set up is as follows:

Current Domain - connects to the New Domain with two way forest trust.  Exchange 2010 deployed at this level to both domains.

New Domain has a CHILD domain this will be used for our users - the parent being used for administrative reasons and where Exchange is deployed.  ADMT currently deployed in the CHILD and migration of users from the current domain is working well.  Mail flows correctly between old and new Domains and outbound / inbound mail works correctly in the new and old domain.

We move the user AD account using ADMT all works well - however on moving the Mailbox using remote Move - we hit the error:

The operation couldn't be performed because object '5b401309f1a8-47fg-9518-5dd7e72a4eba' could not be found on PARENT DOMAIN DC.  We know that Exchange can be deployed in the Parent and mail routed from the child - anyone got any ideas why this might be failing?  I am not that experienced with this so would appreciate some guidance - anyone deployed in this way? Any additional preparation to be completed before moving the mailbox?

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Hello - Yes thank you seen that and it definitely helped me out.  I had not prepared the mailboxes for move - when I did I actually completed at source and not target.  All good now and the preparation has been done - I will need to sort the certificate issue out but will incorporate a new CA into the domain and import as required.

Cheers saved me some hunting.
