Deleting OST file in Outlook 2007

My supervisor was saying on his home PC that whenever he connected remotely Outlook would take a while to update his mailbox.  We determined Outlook was running in cached mode so I provided him instructions on how to turn it off.

If I understand things correctly, Outlook while in Cached mode saves a copy of the mailbox on his PC.  He would like to delete this copy as he does not want it taking up space on his hard drive.

Where is this file located?  is in a OST file?  Finally, how do I go about deleting it properly so it does not cause any issues.

Outlook 2007 running on an IMAC in a Parallels environment.

All outlook data store in documents in mac in folder named identity
You will need to go in to windows explorer and "show all hidden files / system files", alternatively, you can do it by going in to control panel, search for "Mail", and then under files, "Data files" tab and delete them there (Remove)

Windows 7 and Windows Vista     drive:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook

Windows XP     drive:\Documents and Settings\user\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

If as I understand it Outlook is running in a windows environment within Parallels then you can fine the ost file by going to

Outlook - Choose menu item Tools, Accounts Settings, Change Account Settings, Advanced, Offline Folder settings will show you where it is stored - generally it is C:\ Documents and Settings\ username\ Local Settings\ Application Data\ Microsoft\ Outlook\ outlook.ost
