Migrate Server 2003 to 2008R2 Active Directory

I im about to Migrate Server 2003 to 2008R2 Active Directory and FSMO Roles

We having a dilemma as what order to do it as I previously done this had to run “adprep” and “forestprep” on 2003 server and then adding 2008 as secondary domain and move over the FSMO roles

Someone else is suggesting that we have to add secondary domain a2008 before running and commands on server 2003

Can you help and let me know what are your fought and experience which way is the best

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

agreed
run adprep32 (since you have 32bit OS) on your 2003 server with /forestprep and /domainprep then promote the 2008 r2 server
you can't promote a 2008 r2 server without doing adprep actions first - it is the only way to go because of the dependencies of the AD schema changes
