cant get into bios to change boot sequence or get boot menu on G510s touch lenovo with windows 8

I need to boot a Hirens cd to reset a pasword.

f6 gets me a boot menu but it does let me move the arrows to select anything.

According to Lenovo, try this:

Take out the battery, power lead and any other peripherals attached to the laptop.  Press and hold down the power key for 10 seconds.  Plug in the power lead only (No battery apparently).

According to this advice F2 enters the BIOS.  However F12 gives you a choice of boot device.

Let us know how you get on.

Reading the comments it seems that the only consistent key is F12 for boot choice.

did you disable Safe Boot?  if not here the steps :
 Follow these steps to disable Secure Boot in the BIOS.

1.Turn on the computer and immediately press the F10 key repeatedly, about once every second, until the Computer Setup Utility opens.
2.Use the right arrow key to choose the Security menu, use the down arrow key to select Secure Boot Configuration, then press Enter.

you are all wrong and the lenovo site is wrong.

the answer is hold recovery button at top left of laptop along with power from a powered off state.

then you get a menu that let's you enter the bios.

change from uefi to legacy in bios.

make sure removable devices are 1st in bios.

put bootable CD in laptop and reboot.
