Redirect Certain Incoming Traffic

I need help on a method to redirect traffic.

Domain 1
connect.domain1.com

Domain 2
random.domain2.com

I've set up DNS on domain 2's subdomain "random" to point to connect.domain1.com via CNAME record.

How can I capture the incoming traffic from random.domain2.com and redirect to another location?  Is this HTACCESS? or something else?

I wear a lot of hats...

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

So you want to redirect traffic from one domain to another? That can be done via .htaccess yes...

Something like this for example:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !random.domain2.com$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://connect.domain1.com/$1 [L,R=301]
