In our company we were having Esxi 5.1 . At that time the engineer who installed forgot to install the vsphere web client feature. Now after upgrading to Esxi 5.5. I am unable to install that particular feature. when installing it shows rolled out error. Now if I want to install that feature how can i install it.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

There's a nice KB to walk you through the setup of the web client, though since you're seeing an error it might not work...

Can you provide more info on the error? Is vCenter installed correctly? Maybe some screenshots?

Do you have more than a single server?

Web Client, is actually a Web Portal which is a component of vCenter Server ?

You *CANNOT* just install the Web Client on it's own, on a server or workstation.

So you you have a a vCenter Server ?

The reason I ask, it's add to leave it out, because you normally have to install, Single Sign On, Inventory, Web Client, and vCenter Server installation, and if you use the vCenter Simple installation, it installs all these for you.

@Andrew, I was thinking the same thing, vCenter not in use for the environment...

The last time we discussed this, he did not have a license for vCenter Server, and he was going to purchase one.

Hi ,

We have purchased the license . Its Vmware Esxi 5.5 essential for 3 hosts. Previously we were having 5.1 . During that time the person who installed that missed to install the web feature. Even we have the vcenter server aslo. The company guy came & installed it. When he was trying to install the web feature. Then this guy said that in 5.1 web feature was not installed due to that we are unable to install this time. It shows Installing Vmware vshere  web client & then suddenly it gives rolling back action.

Error:- The wizard was interrupted before vmware vsphere  web client could  be completely installed.
your system has not been modified. to complete the installation at another time, please run the setup again.

To be honest with you.

I would uninstall and re-install, and click the Simple Install option which installs it all for you.
