Outlook 2003 crashing

Outlook 2003 / 2000 is crashing on most PC's on the network whenever you click the attachment button.

windows gives you an error which is saying that the application has stopped working but gives no further details.

No PC's had the problem on Friday but most have the issue today. some PC's have been working fine for half the day and then are getting the problem.

it is a Microsoft exchange server setup.

if I log in using a temp profile then outlook works.
I have tried un-installing the latest updates and that doesn't work.
I have tried doing a system restore and that doesn't work.
tried res-installing office / outlook with no luck

See if starting Outlook with the "/safe" switch solves the issue - if so then its probably an Outlook add-in causing the issue.

If not then untick cached exchange mode and see if that helps - if so then may be a case of renaming or deleting the old cached file and letting it create new.

What is the environment you are working in (what Exchange)? It seems unlikely an individual problem would affect MOST computers.

Updates occurred before today. Did you do a lot of updates over the weekend?

Did Exchange run out of space?
