This is what it looks like in the stylesheet
getinTouch ul{margin-top:15px;}
.getinTouch ul li{color:#ffffff; margin-bottom:10px;}
.getinTouch ul li:last-child{margin:0;}
.getinTouch ul li i{ margin-right:0 !important; font-size:20px; width:30px;}
.getinTouch ul li span label{display:block; margin:0;}
.getinTouch ul li a{color:#e05f03;}
.getinTouch ul li.pad{padding-left:30px;}

The style sheet says style the <ul> element that is a child of the .getinTouch element.

By applying he style to the <ul> you are saying only child <ul> elements of the <ul> will get that style.

You have to apply the style either to the parent of the <ul> OR change the stylesheet to remove the ul from the style.

You have also applied the style to one of the <li> elements which is not going to work either.

Finally, your page has some validation errors with missing closing </div>'s etc you might want to look at fixing - without a valid page it can be very difficult to track errors.

Word of advice - to get better response on EE post as much info as possible. In your post above it would have been helpful to know
a) Where to look for the problem - where on the page the style was applied
b) What the expected results were
c) What the actual results were

You're right, sorry, I should have given more information. I'm not sure I understand what you're saying regarding the child and parent, but I'll have a look, thanks.

The styles are now being applied - what is the issue?

the issue  That I am still seeing this style applied to the ul, which is the same as to the upper nav.

Well if you look at line 16 of styles you see
ul li a {
  background-color: rgb(240, 240, 240);
  border-radius: 5px;
  color: rgb(41, 41, 41);
  display: block !important;
  margin-left: 1px !important;
  margin-right: 1px !important;
  padding: 10px 19px !important;
}

Open in new window

That's going to apply to all <a> elements that are in a <ul><li> irrespective of where you put it in your document.

If the above styling is not required you have two options

1. Change the style declaration to make it only apply to the nav bar something like this might work
ul.nav li a {
  background-color: rgb(240, 240, 240);
  border-radius: 5px;
  color: rgb(41, 41, 41);
  display: block !important;
  margin-left: 1px !important;
  margin-right: 1px !important;
  padding: 10px 19px !important;
}

Open in new window

2. Override the style for your .getinTouch <ul> by explicitly specifying the styles you want overridden.

You might also have to do the same to the style on lines 17 and 18 as well.
